trying to get the flash to do a external link transfer to resolve low audio. the manuel sez it can be done but it does not say what the command is for the link signal. any suggestions?.....thanx

the flash will not accept a feature code in a dialing string. while in the flash adminstration mode if you press feature it exits the system. on page 7-14 of the flash set up and operation guide it states the dialing string should be '#5551234' for link transfer. but the # tells it the next digit is a function. 5 just happens to be the digit '#' when placed in service it dials '#5551234' and still ties two pots lines together to make the transfer. on the next page of the manuel it list what the functions are, but no where does it state what the function code is for link any suggestions? anyone else doing a link transfer on a flash? thanx

Are you trying to do a link transfer like with centrex?
Some dialling codes: # specifies the next digits are special characters, 4 recognizes dial tone, # before the phone number on regular lines would do the link. Example: #5551212 number dialed is 5551212. That is how I have it wrote down.

exactly....a link transfer using centrex. the flash manuel states it can be done but when u put # @ the beginging of the dial string it signals the next digit is a function. it will not let u put feature71 in the string like in an external autodial.

Actually, what you would have to do to link transfer to ex. 5551212 is input #525551212 where '#' specifies the next digit will be a "special" number, the '5' is a link signal, the '2' specifies that the next digit will be a number, and the '5551212' is the number the call is being transferred to.

OK, I too am trying to do this. Unfortunately, how do you add the second "link or flash-hook" to join the lines. Here's what I've programmed in a path of the CCR: #53218005551212#35.
Where:

# = special character
3 = 4 second pause
2 = dtmf digits to dial

I think it is working except the lines never join together.

Thx for all the help

In addition to all this you must make sure that you have the link feature available on the lines themselves. You will have to call Telco to make sure this is enabled on the lines. MRoberts

Yes, link is available from the telco and frequently used to conference.

SSCOT1234, have you been sucessful with programming this?

havnt tried the above yet. yes ive had verizon change all the lines to centrex. using link transfer you can link the line dial the number then release and the call is transfered via the telco switch. i have this set up programed in an external autodial so the one office can transfer calls to another office and it works perfectly. the flash just wont take a feature code like a set. as stated above the flash manuel sez it can be done, but they are very unspecific on how to get it to occur. ill be @ the site thurs and try any suggestions and let ya know......thanx

Well, we have been testing a bit here and got it working. You must have business type lines and the Link/transfer feature must be enabled on the lines by Telco.
You then must set Link at CO: Y on all lines and Allow link: Y on all extensions.
As far as the CCR tree, you enter # to allow special digits, 5 for link, 2 to signal the next digits are to be dialed, then the destination phone number.

# 5 2 18005551212

There isn't any flash or link to be done on the back end. This transfers the call out of the system and drops the connection to the system releasing the lines.

Works great. MRoberts
