I've just started learning Flash. I'm trying to move items from the library by clicking and dragging them onto the stage. For some reason Flash won't let me move them. I've tried dragging them from the library's list and from the preview window, but neither works. Does anyone have any idea why?

Should work...
It might be because you're trying to drag things to a locked layer (the little padlock icon will show on the layer) in the timeline window if this is the case.
Or maybe you have a new movie and you haven't yet created a keyframe to place the items in (sounds stupid but it happened to me the first time I tried to use Flash).
