Ok I KNOW this is a toughie coz I've looked absolutely everywhere for some idea of a solution. I have an application that is based in Java/HTML. I want to "make it beautiful" with Flash. What, if any, ability does flash have to intergrate with Java and/or databases (what type?) and if it can't be done in Flash does anyone know whether its possible to concoct something in Director that would use a Flash movie as the UI?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Hey!

I haven't worked with this feature, but I know that in Flash 4, you can pass variables from the movie to a JavaScript, JSP or ASP code. I reckon, that it should work the same way in a Java program.

What you should do is trap all your variables in the Flash UI and get the movie to pass them to the Java code to work on them further. This functionality can be found in the FS Command - where you have the arguments to be passed; or in the Load Movie command - where there is an option of exporting the variables that you will trap. You will have to define the variables using ActionScript, the script that ships with Flash 4

Hope this was useful!

Thanks!
Madhavan

ur solution simply lies in the FScommand u should study this thing on the net that how to pass variables to other programs , I have seen recently some files that were built in java and flash animations were included in it.
