Hi all,
I have a small issues when attempting a flash install over a wan boot.
The problem is with the timeserver variable in the sysidcfg file. For some reason the install halts at the timeserver portion and requires an interactive entry, it does continue after this successfully, but I'd like to get this to work without intervention.
I have tried putting in localhost; the ip address; the ip address of an ntp server; hostname; hosts file entry.
All to no avail.
Anyone with experience of this, please help.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan,

I have only ever done this once (on the last day of a Sun Training course). This is the contents of the file: sysidcfg (which we had in /var/apache/htdocs/config):
Code:
timeserver=localhost
system_locale=C
network_interface=<IFno> { default_route=none
                           netmask=nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
                           protocol_ipv6=no }
timezone=GB
terminal=sun-cmd
name_service=NONE
security_policy=NONE
root_password=<13char-encrypted-password>

I hope that helps.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply.
This looks similar to what I have been doing but to no avail.
I've logged a call to Sun and the only suggestion I've been given is to use localhost as you have described.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers

I am using localhost also,

you might try fully qualify the hosts in the rules file, and in the add_install_client command.

Thanks David,

I'll give that a try as well.
