I have a customer who is going to have a 3300 CX with 2 analog lines. Is there any way to utilize call waiting features by using a flash hook button? Since they dont want to use an AA either, a CX is starting to seem a little overkill.

There are feature access codes for Flash over trunk or Double flash over trunk that can be utilized to access trunk side features such as Call waiting.

These features can be programmed on vacant keys on the phone.

does this mess anything up with the 3300's call control. Can you just flash over to the waiting line and flash back without problems?

I can only quote the Help Files:

Excerpt below.

Description
Trunk Flash lets you single or double flash a trunk in order to access Centrex features.

Tip: Once a user receives dial tone from the CO (after flashing a trunk), the system cannot restrict dialing.

Conditions
Trunk Flash is supported for the following types of trunks:
LS/GS CO
E&M
T1DID/TIE
T1 E&M
T1 CO

For analog trunks:
-Trunk Flash is supported for both LS and GS trunks on the LS/GS trunk card.
-Trunk Flash is supported for LS trunks on all other analog trunk interfaces on the 3300 ICP.
-For digital trunks, Trunk Flash is only supported for T1 trunks on the Universal NSU that are running T1 CAS protocol.
-MSDN or DASSII trunks do not support Trunk Flash.
-DISA callers cannot use Trunk Flash.
-To initiate this feature, you must be in talking state on the trunk that is to be flashed with no one on Consultation Hold. You cannot initiate the feature if you are in a conference unless the conference uses the far end's conference capabilities.
-A Symbol Wireless phones cannot initiate this feature.
