Flash Crash

Had a flash 4 with 2.1 s/w crash over the weekend. trying to get it back. S/W apparently is no good, went to 1.7 system saw the downgrade and tried to boot but got stuck at this. "!!Tel wait for Functerm" any ideas??

What do you mean exactly? you seem rushed.

How do you know the software is no good?
Are you also saying the the system downgraded itself?

I'm guessing the V1.7 is too low to be compatible with your system since the message you see means it can't sync with the Norstar system. Try going back to the V2.1 and see what happens. If that fails try using at least V1.9 if you have any spare software cards.

Thanks for all the reply's, I tried with the old 2.1 s/w and got no response at all, at least the 1.7 tries to boot up. I have it attached to a CICS 7.1 I don't have a newer Flash s/w. I could put like a 4.1 in the CICS and see what happens. Do you guys think that might be compatible. I don't want to purchase a new Flash s/w till I'm sure that's the problem.

The fact that the V2.1 doesn't even respond tells me it is defective. It should at least try to boot up.

1.7 was for 3.0 KSU side so you will need 1.9 and up for 4.1 to 6.1.

To downgrade a KSU software level:

-Reboot KSU
-System STARTUP and do any choices asked
-Soon as you see "Applying Template" power down the KSU
-Swap software and power up and wait
-Reprogram from scratch


I suggest you purchase 2.X for testing and emergencies.

Thanks for all the reply's. I replaced the s/w with 2.0 and was able to re-install the system and bring it up normally.
