Hi all,

Hopefully somone can point me in the right direction - I am not and AS expert, nor do I know anything about ASP, but my hosted space is on a windows server, and so I need to use ASP apparently to manage entered for data.
I have been working through a tutorial that describes how to give instance names to form fields and then and then give them the specific variable names as defined by my hosting provider, however, they have told me that I can't do this with ASP on a Windows server, and I'd have to switch to Linux with cgi. However, they do describe how to use the form mailer in ASP and give examples of ASP code, telling me to insert my own names for each of the fields. So I assume I would have to publish my HTML file from Flash, then go in and add this code to it manually would I? And when I give the fields names in ASP, can I use the instance names I used in Flash? Can the HTML/ASP share names in this way??

The other simple way I have found to get the data out of a form is to use the getUrl global function and append the variables that is the entered form data to the specified url. But this just appends these variable in the address bar to the url...so that's as far as I get...can anyone sugest how I would get that data from a URL and append it to say, a text file, or better yet, a data base or spreadsheet, or even better yet; in the case of the email data, append it to a Outlook or webmail account contacts list?

Lots of questions, some of them pretty basic, and not strictly Flash either, so huge appreciation to anyone who has a stab at giving me a hand... :)
