Is there a way to let flash communicate with SQL Server to retrive and store information in a DB?

sure but you will need a server side script asp or php perhaps depends on your platform

windows hosting, so aspx on the server side, but can I send info without going through the querystring? I don't want to send login & password information (and other personal info) through the querystring.
