I have very little hair left to pull out. I have a Doctors office with an 0 X 32 V 4.0 with a Flash 4 v 1.9. They want to use the AA to answer line 6 only (back Line) 24 / 7 / 365 on the fifth ring so the Doctors can leave messages for nurses. During the day they anwser all calls manually including line 6. I sure could use some step by step help in setting up. I thought I had it but it answers on the first ring all the time even though it is set for 5 rings. I have already recorded the message on greeting 1.
The only phones that ring are the reception area ........221....222.....223.
Thanks as always for saving what little hair I have.

Check Feature 982 and make sure that
1. the attendant is available;
2. the business is open;
3. define the attendant; and
4. set the answer status to Y.

Programming Manual Night Services

The following settings will enable the attendant (receptionist) to answer all calls during the day. These calls will ring at this station until answered. At night the attendant will press the NIGHT SVC button and the AA will then answer the lines immediately.

This section instructs you on creating the ringing group, assigning the night service to manual control and assigning which extension will be the control set. We will change the control set for line 6 so that it will not be effected by the night service button.

1. Feature * * 266344
2. Password: 266344
3. Terminals & Sets
4. Select NEXT to SERVICES, show, RINGING SERVICES, show RINGING GROUP, show.
Enter 001 for the Ringing Group. Press SHOW.
At the SHOW SET prompt select SCAN. Extension 221 is, by default, assigned to every ringing group. UNASSIGN it.

Then press FIND. At the SHOW SET prompt enter the first station port of the voicemail. Do not assign any other ports, just the first port. This can be found by entering FEATURE 985 which displays the first voicemail port.

5. Go back to RINGING GROUP and NEXT to SCHEDULE: NIGHT and select SHOW.

6. Service should be set to MANUAL (the default is OFF). Then press NEXT to TRUNK ANSWER make sure it is set to YES.

7. Then select HEADING and return to SERVICES and SHOW. Press NEXT to COMMON SETTINGS, press SHOW. At the CONTROL SET prompt, press SHOW. Make sure that the Control Set for each line is set to the extension you want to have the Night Button.

8. After you make sure all lines (other than line 026) has the control set programmed. Show line 026, change the control set to be the first port of the voicemail. Why? because it is unlikely that the voicemail will be pressing a night service button. ;-) This way when the receptionist presses the Night button, line 026 (6) will be uneffected.

9. Then go to the assigned control extension and press FEATURE * 3, press an available button, dial the night service FEATURE 871 feature code. That is now the night button.

Finally go into Feaure 982 as PhM posted above and make sure that the answer lines is set to YES.

MROBERTS,

I appreciate your direction, but I want the aa to answer if line is not answer by the 5th ring even during the day. If I did not state that I'm sorry.

No, I got that. You go under feature 983 and set the line 026 to answer Y/ AA, with it's own table and in 5 rings.

All the above instructions does is allow you to have the OTHER lines be answered immediately at Night without effecting what you have set up on line 026. Line 026 will be answered by AA in 5 rings day and night! MRoberts

MROBERTS,

Thanks I'll go try that tonight.

They do not want any lines ever answered day or night except line 6 for liability reasons.

So you think I'll be good to with last instruction?

thanks again
