flash 8 video technique??? 1

on the lower right of the page, there is a video technique that appears to have had the background of the video removed (kind of like they do when the use the bluescreen behind actors or your local news channels weatherman (when he's standing in front of the weather map))... is that a flash 8 capability (I see in some of the reviews something about 'alpha', seemingly in relation to the awesome / improved flash 8 video capabilities... I've had it for about 24 hours now and am blown away by the upgrade... so far I see lots of good improvements.

Thanks for any feedback you guys can provide.

You can do those kind of things in Flash 8 but in this case it's probably just Flash 6 (very few advertisers use even v7 because the player's not been picked up that well).

The transparent background can be done by cutting the video out of the background frame by frame (can be done in any graphics program) and exporting as a png sequence then resynching the audio.

The Flash 8 alpha channel support is mainly about overlaying one video on another or switching out backgrounds like standard bluescreen effects.
