Any one run into errors moving Symbols out of the library onto the stage. I get a GPF Integer divide by 0 error when I move a simple text symbol to the stage? Anyone have any thoughts? david e

hi david

Never had this problem myself. Sounds like you might just need a reinstallation of Flash.

It's a new installation but I installed over a trial version. I will uninstall tonight and reinstall it and let you know.

Thanks

I had similar issues with 2000 and installing over a trial version. Removing the earlier version and reinstalling did the trick and I've had no further problems...

Trying to use Flash 5 on my new home PC which came with Windows ME as the OS - now that was fun, especially if you like a particular shade of blue ;-) .

Hey everyone, thanks for your help. I fixed my problem but it had nothing to do with Flash. After almost rebuilding my system I loaded it on my other system that is running Windows NT4 and guess what??? ended up with the same problem. A little further troubleshooting and I figured out that the images that I was using to place on my Flash movie were the ones that were causing me problems. I was given a photoCD from my clients and I guess they have some additional coding in them that needed to be stripped out. I had to open them with a standard graphics viewer then save them over the same file name. This strips out the code that was causing me the problem. The strange thing was it would only cause me a problem if I published/previewed it, when I went back into it and opened up the Library and attempted to move something off the library the program would crash.

I'm just glad that I figured it out before I rebuilt my system......
