I have a customer who wants zero rings when callers dial "0" for the operator/ Gen. Del. Mbox/(ext 221). The operator(F982) attendent is set to 100 and the F983 attendent is set to 100. Problem is the auto attendent says "the operator is not available", then goes to Gen Del Mbox. They would like this greeting NOT to play.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry can't stop Norstar Nora from saying operator not available even if operator status is set as available in F982

That's 1 yes and 1 no...anybody else with a possible solution to this problem?

I had to test it on a Flash, to double check.

Make sure Attendant Available is set to YES under F982. That will prevent Nortel Nancy from saying "Operator not Available" & the customer will hear your recorded greeting in MB100.

To achieve "0" rings (No ringing at x221,Then FWD 221 to the VM DN under F985 when you want that, or leave it lke that all the time. You can always set up a couple buttons on x221, one for FWD & one for the VM DN. When you want to remove it(allowing it to ring before going to MB100 just press the Cancel button on the right side soft key under the display.

I failed to mention they answer live and only after 3 rings the ccr tree kicks in. That is when they want the dial "0" to to go no rings to gen del mbox without "the operator is not available" coming on. I can't get this to work. When you cfd the reception phone to Voicemail, the caller does not hear the ccr tree...it goes direct to gen del mbox.

yes- that is what it is supposed to do. If you CFWD any phone to VM, and it has ringing line appearances, it will go to that phones mbx, depending on how the various timers are set. –

It sounds as if you would benefit by getting a qualified vendor out there to get the programming correct...What you want to accomplish is do-able, but your programming is not close.

One more thing- Sphoneman was correct (if you had the attendant set to a valid DN, which you don’t.) I think Telemarv misread the question, or he is answering it in reference to the fact that you do not have your attendant set to a valid DN.- because he is generally 100% correct.

The only way to get 0 rings and have the caller go to mbox 100 after the caller 0's out is to have the attendent as mbox 100. All's I need is for Norstar Nora to keep her big mouth shut("the attendent is not available") and go directly to the gen del mbox. The only other thing I can think of doing is add a point on the ccr tree with a leave message prompt and have it go to Mbox 100...your thoughts...Mike

your statement "The only way to get 0 rings and have the caller go to mbox 100 after the caller 0's out is to have the attendant as mbox 100." is not correct.

As stated above: If you want to get rid of that message you must set the attendant as a valid DN (i.e. 221,) and set it as available in feat982 / table programming.
