Hi,
I've just been asked to change our website to express our concern over the tragedy this past week. Can someone tell me where I can find a flag that is pretty big(cover most of the page) and how to put this in the background with text over the top.

Thanks..Russ

I assume you've found a flag gif by now. To make an opaque background, use PhotoShop or PaintShopPro (versions 5 or above).

I recommend PaintShopPro7. Anyway the process is roughly the same in each...

1. Create a new file with a white background.

2. Paste flag gif as "new layer" on top of the white background layer.

3. Using layer palatte, reduce opacity of layer 2 to about 15%.

4. Merge (flatten) all layers.

5. Crop, resize, save.

6. Use as background with whatever text over it.

Since you'r going to be working with a ghosted image, the flag really doesn't have to be all that big, use photoshop or paintshop pro to size it up. Since it will be faded, and in the background it really won't matter that it is a little pixelated.
best of luck

The instructions cactus1000 gave above show you how to make it faded. Tracy Dryden
