Fixed column widths in web part

I have a web part page where we are displaying 2 document libraries with the same columns in the view but when the page is displayed the columns are out of line is there any way of setting what the column width is of say the name column i have looked in sharepoint designer but i cant identify it any help would be greatly appreciated.
