1-1 Transaction C 1 I or V
2-8 Company Name 7 Left justified, space padded
9-18 Account number 10 Right justified, leading zeros

Hi,
need a bit more info to start with...
what version of Crystal Reports are you using ? What type of database are you reporting off of ? What is the purpose of the report ?

You can get leading zeros for numeric fields in Crystal, using Totext({a.number}, "000000000"). This means that 7123 will come out as 000007123. Does this help?

Madawc... that did the trick. But I need one more thing. I need to specify each field to be only a specific length. For example, the field must have 8 chars, so if I pull data that has only 4 chars, the data would display:

" GOOD"

By the way, I'm using crystal 8.5 with access 97 and access 2000.

thanks for all the help people.)

Right-justify your text?
