I just took over the telephony at my place of business 3 days ago. I am the network manager with NO real telephony experience. (The old comm. mgr. quit and they are not replacing him)
I have a BCM50e 2.0 and the comm. mgr was trying to "fix" something in the VP's phone, the day he left and now the Pub OLI and Priv. OLI are not the same as his extension. I went in to try to figure this out and went to. Sets---> Active Set-->> Line Assignments and tried to change the Public and Private Received Numbers to his extension number but I get an error that the number is not a valid priv. recieved number. His phone still works to call out but his private line doesnt and no one can call in.

Can someone help??

If you do not network VOIP to another office you do not need the private OLI the public OLI is for sending CLID info out like the phone number. The number assigned to his phone under line access- line assignment, then go to lines -target lines and see what the recived digits are.Or if you need to put a line on his phone you have to look thru the target lines find it then assign it.
