Does any body know of any good browse() functions for
FiveWin. The one provided with the package is not comfortable to work with.

Thanks

sharok,
there are two more browser versions on the FiveWin forum, but they work the same way the original browse does.
I used the original browser for a long time without any discomfort. What is dificulty exactly?

Hi sandorc,

The browse() function provided with 1.9.2 version is not
comfortable to work with because while editting a cell the
only way to exit is to press Enter or Esc keys. I made some
changes to the function so that I can use Down/Up arrow keys
to edit other cells, but I did not manage to make the mouse
work in the same way. The lEditCol() function is actually a
modal DIALOG box that activates the GET whithin. Therefore it does not let the oDlg:bLClicked(Left mouse click) events.
Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

sharok,
The FiveWin 1.92 version is quite old and several things does not work well but I think the EditCol() method (not the lEditCol() method) should exist. It is the non-modal cell editor. If not, sorry.
I have the spanish 1.95 version that I adapted with classes developed by FivewWin users droped in the FiveWin NG. Many of theese classes are included in the newer versions. (the newest is 2.3).
Personaly, I would not let the end-user edit a cell in non-modal mode. I use only modal dialogs and that saved lots of troubles opening several times the same dbf file at the same time and GPF´s because the user left open a lot of child windows and now is working wit a new one.

sharok,
maybe you cannot compile it with FiveWin 1.92.

Is there an upgrade for 1.9.2 or do I have to purchase
a new package. (2.5)

As far I know, there are no updates to sell in Fivetech.
You should get this information with your local FiveWin dealer.
