Fit Graphic Calendar Into Zone

Sharepoint 2007, screen setting 1280 x 768 > I am trying to "fit" the graphic version of the calendar web part into an existing web zone ... with no success so far. When I change my calendar view from "All Events" to "Calendar", it expands the zone which, in turn, causes my site to activate a horizontal scroll bar ... which I do not want. When I set the Web Part to have a fixed width ( instead of adjusting to fit the zone ), it activates scroll bars on the calendar itself. Is there some way of shrinking the graphic calendar within the zone that I am not aware of?
