Fist time setting up a Mitel SX-200ICP - a few questions

I'll try to keep the questions general and not sound too terribly ignorant.

I'm with a telco and train techs on PRI services. We're expanding the training to trap/trace, called ID, outbound dialing problems, etc, and have procured a NIB SX-200ICP from old stock. The plan is to get internal PRI circuits built NI2 in a 5ESS, DMS100, Siemens EWSD, GTD-5, and a Metaswitch, then have the Mitel built so we can switch cabling from PRI to PRI and I can instruct on these procedures one switch at a time. I'll be getting dedicated DID's for each switch, and I have several phones to program to. I *do not* need much beyond calling and taking calls, and the ability to change caller ID call type/plan from national to unknown, alter outbound digits, spoof caller ID, etc. I don't need to mess with internal dialing, voicemail, or anything that would pertain only to the end users. If additional features are already there, that's fine, but I don't need any additional end user type features.

I have extensive knowledge about PRI from the telco switching side, but for call managers I really mostly just know what they're capable of with regard to how they interact and what needs to be sent/received as far as calling, caller ID, Q.931 messaging, etc. Basically you call in a PRI trouble report, I can go through everything that pertains to the telco side and how you need to be set for general operation. I just don't really know anything about setup on the vendor side.

So I have this Mitel, all the documentation, a PRI card installed (and plenty of time) and I'm initially wondering a couple things. ***And please do not think that I think it'll just a piece of cake to do all this. I know we'll have to play with it for a while, but I've got some smart people at my disposal and I do have *some* support from our CPE techs when I can get hold of them. They're all out of state though, so getting someone hands-on is unlikely, and hiring anyone specifically for this isn't an option. Our lab is all scavenged equipment and built/managed internally on a $0 budget. I'm just looking for some basic information/resources and guidance. I absolutely do not plan on coming back here for every detail. I just want to get this thing up and running so we can go on from there. We don't have the PRI's built yet and I'm hoping to be ready enough that I don't plug the thing in and just stare at the screen wondering what to do next.

- Will this machine do what I want?
- What are my priorities when setting all this up? Like, what's the first couple things I need to do after I get everything booted up and ready to configure?
- I saw some stuff in the documentation talking about licensing. Will this be a problem for me?
- Is there something like a default/basic config I can start with that will get me most of the base setup out of the way and put me at the point where I'm able to add my DID's and things?
-Can I keep a terminal set up to it all the time so I can remote desktop from out of state (when traveling for training)?

And is there a good step by step guide to the setup of this that I can use to get started? I've been (and will continue to) looking around online for something.

*Thank you in advance for any help. I know a lot of you all are vendors so please know ahead of time this thing isn't going to be used for any real customers. We're not trying to undercut anyone or anything like that. The goal is to get our people good at working with YOU guys and gals to save everyone a lot of frustration and keep the customers up and running well. For customer convenience we're cranking out new PRI's all the time. We have a lot of maintenance reports coming in and we work with vendors regularly. I hate when our team isn't equipped to go over everything and perform call traces, etc, to help you all (or us) figure out what needs changed. Getting this thing setup will be enormously helpful with our training.
