Hello Panasonic Crew, I'm typically posting on the Avaya and Nortel pages. I just accepted a job to relocate a TDA50 with 7 phones, is there a special way to power down the ksu to prevent programming loss?

If the TDA does lose programming, is reprogramming performed through a digital phone or some kind of admin program? Thanks

Simply switching off the KX-TDA50 can not make it lose the configuration.

The configuration can be backed-up if you have the PC Maintenance console tool

The unit can be configured using the operators digital set (if permitted)

You can google online or contact your dealer.

The latest version for USA systems is Ver7.8

So I've found the installation manual. I want to make sure I have my laptop setup for the relocation. In the connection type is says USB, RS-232, and Modem. Does this system program through a USB connection? If so is it just a USB to USB cable I need for admin?

You can program through USB cable but you need an older style A B USB cable and drivers

Thanks 1A2Steve, I moved and installed the TDA50 phone system last week and luckily didn't need to make any program changes.

You are lucky!! I went through hell on a TAW848 because the drivers were not available for newer laptops.
