I do not know where to start really. I read the help files but no solid directions on where to start. Firstly when I start a new project and choose a vb project, I get a task list telling me
TASk LIST:
1. "One or more files in the MSVBVM60.MSM have different versions than those installed on this machine."
there a 9 more of this kind of task with different files.
10." Neither a merge Module nor dependency info could be found for C:\programs\microsoft office\office10\msowc.dll."
What tasks do I need to do here?
Do I have to do these tasks.?
MY development machine is XP but I need the application to run on win2000 and win98. With my logic, I would think it would ask me or I can specify which OS I need the app to run on. This would be the target machine, yes??
Why cannot I just have a wizard that asks me what project and what type of machine it needs to run on and it makes the installer program. Trying to get my app to run on win2000 is becoming more time consuming than it took to make the app. Of course "package and deploy wizard" has a problem and Microsofts work arounds did not work so now I have been directed to this visual Studio Installer. It seems powerful and I hear good things, But I need to get this app running on win2000 machine and win98 ASAP and the learning curve is bogging me down! Can anoyone help by answering the above questions for me !!! thanks!!!
Can I jsut tell it to build the installer program and run it or do I have configure everything?
