I was trying to use dynamic rather than static prompts because we just upgraded to BOXI Release 2 and Crystal Reports XI. I thought I had done it correctly but when I try to schedule the report it prompts for a database login. Not sure why this is happening but would like to resolve it. Any help?

Thanks,
Bessebo

You need to set the database login in BOE XI for both the report connection and the dynamic parameter connection.

Not sure where to do this. I assume maybe Manage Settings in the CMC?

When a Crystal Report RPT-file that contains "Dynamic Parameters" is posted to the BOE-XI (R2) infrastructure it creates a BUSINESS VIEW for each Dynamic Parameter.

You need to use the desktop BUSINESS VIEW MANAGER to connect to the BOE-XI (R2) infrastructure and set-up the DB-login for each Dynamic Parameter connection.

Also, depending on the size of your database - you can apply user-security and schedules to the Dynamic Parameter connections using the desktop BUSINESS VIEW MANAGER tool.

OK, I have never used the Business View Manager and I just went into it and have to read up on it. I have to go to the Business Objects web site to see if I can find a pdf on it. I understand that there is Help in there and may end up just using that...

Thanks,
Bessebo
