First time set up with PRI

Hello, I'll be setting up a PRI line in a few days and wanted to ask you guys a few questions since I have never added a line before.

[li]Are there two different versions of the Universal PRI card? The manual states that there is a single and dual port daughter board and I just want to make sure.[/li]
[li]I saw one post state that you don't need to change anything usually, but just want to double check if that is true.[/li]
[li]Can the rest of the phone system automatically use all those lines when added?[/li]
[li]What is line group ID?[/li]
[li]If I didn't want the rest of the system to be able to use all the lines automatically, but only certain numbers use up those lines what would I do?[/li]
[li]Is there anything I should know that might not be obvious to a newbie?[/li]

There are two daughter cards depending if you have one or two PRIs.

Most of the default settings work.

You may need to adjust the ARS to use the lines.

You set the group ID. Just make sure you change it in ARS. Don't use the default group.

Again... Only the stations set to use that ARS will access it.

The main thing that tripped me up on the setup is they are out of service by default. Make sure all channels are licensed and enabled.
The other thing I can say is use the full 10 digit numbers on the IRC. By default it will translate the outgoing CID to the user if you fill in the full number one the IRC. It will match right to left so if the carrier only sends you 4 digits it will still match.

Remember that only the first 8 channels are licenced for each line. Above that you will need to purchase licences.

On the line form you need to set the number of licenced channels which is 30 by default.
