Hello All;
After configuring my access server to be ready to comunicate with 8 routers and 4 switches, I'm ready to feed live internet to this lab rack.
I use Cox cable, coming in to a modem (Arris) which I believe have the DHCP server. Right next to the modem is my Dlink DIR-655 Wireless router and then my 2 pc's and 3 laptops.
To experiment with the lab I want to know how to feed the internet connection; straight from the modem to port 1 of one of my switches? or from one of the hub ports from the Dlink to port 1 of one of the switches?
From there I plan to inter-connect all the routers to the switches, after configuration of course, and see how all works.
I know way less than the equipment I have to play with but I keep reading endless articles and books about configurations and what have you and I'm still here asking such questions; I bought this lab to put in practice everything I will learn and to support that learning.
I have no problems starting small; 2 routers-1 switch but I have to start somewhere; If I feed internet to the lab rack and any equipment doesn't comunicate after configuration, providing it should; this will push me to find out why and i'm hoping to learn this way more than what I have learned reading so far.
Any Ideas?
