Hi, I must set up a Pix 520 firewall on my network. Currently there is a simple Netopia router that only does NAT. The company acquired a pix 520 and decided I should install it. I have plenty of experience with other brands like watchguard and sonicwall, but I have very little Cisco experience.
Hurtle #1 is connecting to the thing. I have a cable with RJ45 connectors, and one RJ45-serial connector (my understanding is that I should have 2 of these). I have a similar null modem cable with RJ11 connectors, seems to me it should communicate that way as well??
What do I use to communicate with it? Telnet? What address? Tried hyperterminal with Com1 and got nothing, but I have no idea if I'm going about this right.
I can go get another RJ45-serial connector if that's what I need, but I'd like some idea of what the first goal here would be, since I've hardly touched Cisco equipment before. Is there a good place to go to read the basics?
Thanks
