I have about 10 years of experience as an IT pro. I'm employed full-time/perm and, for the first time, I am looking to get some part-time telecommuting contract work. Have an offer on the table and I've submitted my proposed hourly rate based on my experience and FT salary. I've been upfront about my lack of consultant exp., but I am unsure about how to gain access to their systems. Do consultants generally have their own equipment (i.e. applications involved, laptop, DBMS software, etc) or is it expected that they will use the client's tools, licenses, etc? Any info appreciated.
