I just did a server farm installation for the first time. I set up an application to host the SSP and a second one to host the MySite service. The creation of the SSP finnished without an error and the link to the SSP
admin appears on the left hand side of the Central Administration. However when clicking on the link I get the following message:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
It seems like the Web App for SSP Admin is never fully provisioning. The site is created in IIS.
Troubleshooting steps:
- Installed WSS and MOSS SP1
- Rebooted
- IIS restart
- Waited overnight for any jobs
- ran STSADM -o execadmsvcjobs
- recreating the web app and the SSP
- no errors in Event Log
What could I be missing?
