Hello,

I am in the process of configuring my first Server Edition install, and had some questions (knowledgebase is unhelpful in this it seems).
I've got the SE updated and licensed, and the expansion v2 registered and PRI trunks licensed.
From there I have some questions.

Overview of equipment:
Server Edition 360, 80x Avaya IP Endpoint License, 40x SIP Trunk License, Receptionist License, 2x Server License
Expansion v2 (2x VCM64, PRI Tunk Card, 2x Digital Station 30, 1x Analog Station 16, 2x PRI Trunk 8-channel license (full PRI)

From reading posts here (mainly tlpeter's :D ) I already know I build all users on the Server, and match extension ports on the v2 with the users.
The ARS is weird though.
On Server, I have a default Main ARS with one code ?/./Dial/0 (PRI on v2 ??? )
On Expansion v2, I have default Main ARS with two codes, ?/./Dial/99999 (IP line to Server) AND ?/./Dial/99998 (no idea where line group 99998 came from, not assigned to PRI)

Questions:
1. the second default ARS dial code on v2, is it needed? get an error for duplicate dial short codes
2. Do I build new ARS tables and point users via short codes to these? or add routes in the default Main ARS?
3. Where do I build hunt groups? Server or Expansion v2?
4. Do I build SIP trunks on the Expansion v2, or on the Server Edition itself?
5. 911 or Dial Emergancy, do I build this on Server, v2, or both?
6. Incoming Call Route - only shown under top-level Solution area in configuration, I assume I build all routes here even for DID's on the v2's PRI. Is this correct?
7. User Rights - I assume I build these on Server, since Users are built here. Correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

Questions:

The second ARS entry is for a secondary server so if you do not have it then delete it.

2. Do I build new ARS tables and point users via short codes to these? or add routes in the default Main ARS?

Not sure what you mean but system or user shortcodes should be send to the ARS on the server as every user is configured on the server.
You can leave the default ? dial . shortcode in the system

3. Where do I build hunt groups? Server or Expansion v2?

On the server always

4. Do I build SIP trunks on the Expansion v2, or on the Server Edition itself?

You can do both but on the expansion you need to set the amount of SIP trunk you are going to use so that the server can assign those licenses to the system.

5. 911 or Dial Emergancy, do I build this on Server, v2, or both?

I think both.

6. Incoming Call Route - only shown under top-level Solution area in configuration, I assume I build all routes here even for DID's on the v2's PRI. Is this correct?

I am not sure but for our system i did build them on the expansion system but on the server should be for all systems, give it a try.

7. User Rights - I assume I build these on Server, since Users are built here. Correct?

I do not use user rights but i think you need to program them on the server.

PS, sending an email was not needed :)
I'll respond anyway but i am having a day off so i was busy doing other stuff then thinking of work :)
