I have recently upgraded to VFP 9 and I am having a strange occurence in a report. It is a straight-forward, simple report of one table that is indexed on job#, work date, action, and employee. I have groups set up and the employees dump in the detail band. The very first page, the very first group header band does not print a field that I have in it. Every group header band after that prints. If I put text in the band to print, it prints every time including the very first. Any ideas? I'm sure it's just a change that I am missing. Thanks in advance, I always get the best help here.

Never mind everyone, I kept playing with settings in the report controls and set the field to stretch with overflow. This resolved the problem, although, I don't know why. Since the report was sorted on a work date field and that field was printing every other time.

Thanks,
Laura

I have seen situations where it 'appeared' that no data was written in a report, but it turned out to be where the character data over-flowed the layout size of the report's Text Object Box.

When you say...
"set the field to stretch with overflow." it might be an indication that you are experiencing the same thing. And by enabling the the text box to 'stretch', you are allowing the report form to correct itself.

I have generally resolved this problem by making the report form text box longer and/or allowing 'stretch' as you did.

Good Luck,
