Hi All,

Have a scenario where the main incoming number is a key on a 5550 IP Console, the first alternate is a multiline key on multiple supersets (5224s) the display on the supersets reads "from xxxx" which is fair enough as it is a forwarded call, I would like to change this to the multiline key name or the original console number name, both of which are in the directory. Have also tried it with putting the key in a ring group, works fine dialling the number internally but when forwarded from the console comes up with "from xxxx" again. Can't see anything in COS that looks relevent. 3300 running release 9.0.0.41 Any suggestion much appreciated.

Try ringing to a hunt group instead of a ring group. Not sure on this one but it's worth a try. If you're experimenting with it, give the hunt group the same COS as your voice mail. That should strip the "Forwarded From" message.

There is another way to do this that I've used before but it's complicated to set up so try the hunt group 1st.
So if that doesn't work I'll post the other fix.

Also, I wouldn't put a multicall in a hunt group. I've had too many problems with the keys locking up, requireing a reboot to fix, it just isn't worth the pain.

If the Multicall key is a member of a Nametag Huntgroup then the Nametag Group Name will display.

This will allow you to setup multiple paths to the same key that display differently.

Caveat: the nametag group overrides the Mitel VM integration digits. If the call ends up at the VM it will present the Nametag group digits instead of the original dialed digits as is normal.

I've had a lot of trouble with Multicall keys in hunt groups going back to the 2k days. Just had a customer call with the same problem yesterday. Line shows busy when doing a STAT MLS but it's not. Takes a reboot for the phone to actually start taking calls again.

UncleRalph,

Noted, but I haven't had the same issues. Ever.

The reason I am overflowing to a Ring Group is that I have 2 different multicall key appearance in the RG to get round the 32 multicall key max appearances, have about 40 in total split over two different multicall keys. This part works a treat but would be the icing on the cake to get a name rather than the number come up on the phones when the call overflows.

Don't like the sound of the multicall keys in huntgroup issues that you are talking about, haven't come across that before either.

and it won't take a ring group in a hunt group :)
