When you upgrade the firmware on a val board does it wipe the existing announcements of the val board ?

THanks

It is not supposed to, but I would use VAL Manager to back it up anyway, then do the firmware upgrade. It is just he safe way to do it.

ok should it be done out of hours

Thanks for the reply

It is service affecting so I would say yes.

I have never tried to do any firmware upgrades during normal business hours. After the upgrade, the card will be reset, so if there are any connections to the card, they will be reset as well. I recommend doing any firmware upgrades when the system is not being used. If you are a 24 hour call center, then you will need to schedule downtime to do the upgrades.
