But that link is for 575 or 59x server.Someone help me find for a 550.

That page talks about the procedures for server firmware upgrade (any p5) and power subsystem firmware upgrade (575 or 59x only).

Read on - you get to the point where it directs you to download the code for your type server from

.

That's where you can download the firmware levels SF230_145, SF230_150 or SF230_180.

I can't help you choose which one - yet. All three apply to any p5 server, including p5-550. I'm working on a project to upgrade our p5-570s - early stages of the project as yet.

Read the document thoroughly before doing anything! Be warned that you will probably have a downtime on your p5 - depends on what your current level is.

HTH,

Note: you may also have to upgrade your HMC to at least V4.5 in order to successfully apply the server firmware upgrade.

Go here:

find the 9113-550 link ( all p5 firmware should be the same ).

I installed sf230_150 last week with no problems.

Remember if you're doing this from an HMC ( as p5wizard says ) you must be at HMC level V4R5.0 with MH00324 or newer for 230_145 and MH00454 or newer for 230_150

thank you p5wizard.
hfaix,
Why didn't you go for sf230_180?and did you install from the server?
oray

SF230_180 is the latest fix go to the IBM site it will tell what specfic fix are included

I didn't go to 180 (isn't it 235_180), because it was very new when I upgraded and I believe it requires HMC V5, which I'm not running, and I didn't want to take the time to upgrade.
