firmware upgrade help required

Hi All,

my current firmware level is SF222_075 and I would like to upgrade it to the latest level i.e. SF240_261, please advice me is it possible to upgrade the firmware level to the latest level directly from SF222_275 to SF240_261 i.e. is there direct path available to upgrade SF222_275 to SF240_265 or I have to upgrade it to any other level and then upgrade it to the latest level.

I have hmc connected to the server, should I upgrade the firmware level through hmc or from AIX is there any difference. Also need steps for upgrading firmware to SF240_265. my environment details are given below:


Present system firmware Version = SF222_075
Present OS level AIX = 5200-05
Present HMC Version = 4.3.2
System Model: IBM,9117-570

SF240-XXX requires HMC 5.2 or highrer to install from HMC HMC cod 5.1 will allow upto SF235-XXX see IBM site
