Firmware update before update OS

Hi all,
I am about to update my OS from 4.3.3 to 5.2 on a 7043-150. The firmware date is from 2001. Can I update the Firmware to the latest avalable one which is 7043150I 08/13/2004?

I am not sure about this particular model, but the firmware might be a prereq before you can even attempt the AIX upgrade.

It is always a good idea to have server firmware up to date before updating to a more recent AIX OS level. There may be a mention of it in the 'Read Me First' notice in your SW pack.
