Having an efficiency problem. When I create graphics in FW, and then slice, what's the best way to make everything fit into DW. To elaborate, when I place slices into DW, I get gaps, between images and on the sides instead of my header running off the page there is a gap on either side in browser. I'm confused on how to make my slices all fit nicely into DW. I know tables are directly related to this but do not have a full grasp on them. What should I be doing in FW and then in DW. Is there more to it and does all of this make sense?

if you get it working in layers just stay in layers -- much more dynamic and lighter pages -- plus DIVS and SPANS are slowly encroaching on tables -- i dont personally like to just import fireworks html -- it all depends on what you are in for -- do you want to get better at making websites or are you just doing this for fun and its whatever? much better to slice your images up and export them and then build your site layout and instert the images. fireworks adds so much extra by adding blank solid images that you dont need that just take up space and you can just use an empty cell with a solid color backgorund and a transparent spacer.

sometime you just gotta say "WHAT THE @#*% !!"

when you say keep it in layers, do you mean do not slice and just copy and paste? It's hard to put exact words to my problem, but would it just be better to design a nice site where all slices line up. I'm designing an entertainment site that will need updating. What about dynamic text. What is the best approach? Thanks

Hi,

This sounds very similar to a problem I'm having. If I create a rollover in Fireworks and attach a popup menu to it and then insert the Fireworks html into the desired cell, using Dreamweaver, a space is created below the image. Yet, I can see no code referencing spacer images. I just can't seem to get the thing to sit flush on the bottom of the cell.

Baffled. Any clues?

dont import fireworks html(period)

like i said slice up the images and go from there.
