firewire / prem 6.0 / dv cam no luck!

I have all the above, my problem, premeire can not find my capture device. I can capture in the software that shipped with the cam or the firewire card (can't remember which) how can I capture with prem? DeZiner

To be honest with you, I had the same problem using windows me.So........... i just continued to capture with Pinnacle software and then imported the avi's into Premiere.
Recently however i have reverted back to windows 98 2nd ed. Premiere now captures perfectly without any frame drop either.
Suggestions:
Ensure you have set up the capture perameters in Premiere.
Boot your pc with the dv cam turned on to vcr and linked with firewire.
Check the device manager ( capture devices ).
What system are you running ie 98, millenium or something else?
Other than that, just keep at it.
