firewire drive does not show up

firewire drive does not show up on my laptop with sp2. the same drive showed up fine on XP desktop with SP 1. is this an sp2 issue? the drive shows up in the device manager but "cannot start device". can't format etc. does not show up in my comp.

Maybe your Windows has a problem to assign a drive letter. Did you check that in the disk management?
