Firewall?!

I just setup a 2003 server and was able to see it through the internet. I installed Black Ice Defender and it has done nothing but crash the system (25+ times already). It appears to be completely removed (no files, no service). I want to do a trial on Kaspersky (any opinions on this?) so I decided to try to seeing my ip before installing.

I cannot see my ip! I can see it through the intranet and I can ping both local and internet ip's. The windows firewall is not on. Obviously iis is working and the router is sending correctly. So why does the server not respond to requests if there is no firewall running?

Thanks in advance,
Jack :D

What's in the event logs? You'd be better off using a hardware firewall so that Internet traffic doesn't get to your server.

I actually will be using this as a webserver. The problem is there is I can ping the ip from the internet but the server does not respond to any requests.
