Firewall warns of WAN Miniport (IP)

My firewall repeatedly warns me that WAN Miniport (IP) is trying to access the internet.

What exactly is it ?
Should I block it or allow it ?

Google tells me it's a Network adapter. When you tell it no, your internet connection may not actually connect to anything. On the other hand, until you check the box that makes it permanent, experiment to your heart's content.
