I'm looking at putting in a firewall system for a network of web servers and development machines including a VPN tunnel to some external machines (less than 25 machines in total). Currently I'm investigating Raptor running under NT and WatchGuard Firebox II. Any thoughts or suggestions from those with practical experience in this area?

Have you looked at CheckPoint Firewall 1 or Guantlet? I have worked with Sidewinder, PIX, and a little Raptor but have been looking at checkpoint. They all have pros and cons but alot has to do with what your requirements are. They can be configured to be as stringent or as weak as you want them but none are a breeze to configure. Since you are using it for web a proxy server may work even better. Check out all options. Hope this helps.

Rob

Raptor, enough said :) Ease of management and alias creation is awesome.
The Geek

Dont be afraid to share what you know. There are no losers in our arena, only self rightous monkeys atop their own tree.
