when i conect to a newsgroup and some web pages i get a "Defualt block
Backdoor/Subsevern trojan ALERT..and other trojan alerts.....can someone
tell me if i didnt have firewall would this trojan virus get into my sytem
as my norton antivirus does not pick it up am i using this firewall in the
correct way

Depending on the type of firewall you are using, you can allow certain programs to access the internet. The firewall blocks access from unauthorized sources. If your Norton is up to date, and you are not getting virus alerts, then it is safe to say (barring something new that Norton doesn't know about) that viruses are not penetrating the firewall. Continue to block unauthorized access and you should be fine
