We have set group policy to turn off the Microsoft Firewall when a new workstation is deployed. However, when a user logs on the Microsoft Firewall resets itself to on. Can anyone help?

Have you tried logging on as administrator and turing the firewall off?

Are you sure the group policy is applied? try running "gpedit /force" to apply the group policy. GP should override local policy so if even an admin on the machine cannot alter what has been set by GP for the domain. Also make sure the machine is in whatever OU the policy is applied to. If the policy is applied to the entire site there should be no problems but if the computer is just in hte computers container GP cannot be applied there. It needs to be moved to an OU where the policy has been applied and active.

I apologize the command is "gpupdate /force" not gpedit
