Firewall Problem Trying To Join Domain

I have a firewall problem on my domain controller. I tried to join the domain through a client. The client saw it and gave me the id and password box which i used my administrator id and pass on. It then tried to join for about 3 minutes and then i got an error. I then disabled the firewall on the server computer and was able to join in about two seconds. It appears my firewall is causeing a problem. It is the ms firewall. Server 2003 R2
