Firewall Opinions

Hi guys, hopefully this is the right place to post this:

I need some opinions on a VPN/Firewall Appliance for a small office of about 50 nodes, under 5 people will need VPN client access from home at night.

I'm looking pretty much in the $1000 range, possibly less and am looking at the Sonicwall PRO 100 and the Symantec 200R as options.

Does anyone have any experiences with these, as well as offering alternative products. I really don't like trusting reviews, I like to hear comments from the field.

I know you said that you didn't want reviews, but here's Epinions.com review of the Symantec 200R. Not good reviews (although only two of them).

The price difference between the two is pretty noticeable.
Symantec's for ~$600 and Sonicwall's for ~$1500.

Look at Netscreen as well. We've used both SonicWall and Netscreen, but have had some problems (power supply and firmware) issues with the SonicWall.

I've been using alot of snapgear products lately, really good bang for the buck so to speak. Its linux based, easy to set up and in your price range. Easily does multiple tunnels, ipsec, pptp and more. I've installed 12 of these so far, and not one has ever hacked. Checking the logs, there are alot of hits starting off but then they peter off to almost none inside a few days.

I just want to get an idea of what cost effective devices people are using in their own organizations these days.
