hi,

as an IT beginner can someone please help me.

I have a nokia firewall IP350 and I have been asked to find out whether it has checkpoint installed.

how do i do that?

the firewall is unplugged from everything, so now i want to connect it to a laptop running windows XP.

do i just connect a network cable between the firewall and laptop, or do i need any other cables etc.

what software do i then use?

thanks

Deos it have a management port? I don't remember if the Nokia appliances use a specific cable or not. Do you know usernames or passwords? If you have a management interface try connecting. IPSO will boot up. If you need to do a password recovery try this link:

Once your in you should be able to do a "fw ver" to verify if checkpoint is running.

If you want a gui you can make a web based connection to it via Voyager. This will tell you all the packages that are installed.

You should probably toss this in the checkpoint forum if you havent already.
