Firewall & Shared drive

This is probably not the right place for this question - but I couldn't find an exact match so here goes:
I am using Trend Micro Internet Security 2009. I have one drive on my computer which is shared. Computers that are shown as blocked on Trend Micro still have access to the shared drive. TM claims that the no firewall will block access to shared drives. Is this correct?
