would you say put the container around overything - or leave the footer outside it?

i dont understand the enefit of putting everything inside it.

I may get shot down by the guru's but here goes.
The advantage of putting everything in a container is that you can give it a width attribute and the page stays complete even at reduced screen sizes. You could leave th footer outside if you prefer.

To be honest, there is no browser that I can make it work nicely in. I would suggest you check the web for [google]custom corners[/google] and pick up one of the tried and true technique for creating fancy image corners on your boxes.
