Last week I posted a topic to another forum, recieved email from Tek-tips that the forums were buggy and I needed to relog into forums and repost but use a different/shortened password.

That worked fine but now I can get to forums via IE7 but Firefox displays :
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
cookies.

Now, this popped up immediately after the situation I described above. FF works everywhere else, just not TekTips.
Anyone else come across this?

I would suspect a cookie issue. I use TT with several browsers (including FF) without any problems. Try deleting your cookies from within Firefox.

bingo - Im writing this thru FF. Removed Tek tips cookies, relogged and all is well.

hmmm now firefox wont save my password...
I bookmarked the page after logging in.
Also, FF doesnt prompt me to remember password for this site.
It seems to work fine on any other site with the password saved.
Its listed as a safe site and to accept cookies.
curiouser and curiouser...

I also have the Remember me feature turned on for tek tips.

Is tek-tips in the 'Exceptions' list in the Security options?

Not in exceptions list, but...
under privacy, somehow the cookies was set to allow for session only...
all fixed
