You can fix many of the problems that ASP.NET 1.x has in rendering correct and fully JavaScript-enabled HTML to Firefox by adding to either your web.config or your machine.config file a XML element, which contains information about capabilities of different browsers. The structure of this element can be complex, but there are several examples around on the Internet for you to just copy and paste into your own config files. One that I found useful has been written by Rob Eberhardt and is available at http://slingfive.com/pages/code/browserCaps, but a search on Google will almost certainly give you other examples.
