I have a site that requires FTP via a browser, although FireFox connects to the site ok, all it gives is a listing of files, I am not able to drag and drop files to upload them to the FTP area as I can in I.E.

I've even installed the FireFTP plugin but all that seems to do is work like an FTP client, it still doesn't enable browser FTPing as I.E. does.

Is FF capable of handling FTP via HTTP as I.E. or is there another plugin that is required?

Thanks

Firefox doesn't support the browser based FTP like IE.
You've found the plugin that offers the best FTP support from what I know.

Can I ask why they require FTP via the browser?

Damn, thats not what I wanted to hear, oh well I guess I'll have to get them to either use I.E. or they will have to connect via the client plugin with userid/password.

sure, it's for my members area top 40 charts, to enable people to upload their own tunes into the charts.

I did use a webform with enctype set but my current webhost was too unreliable for that method and it also doesn't give the user any representation of progress or time left for upload.

FTP is much more reliable and user friendly, especially if they use I.E. which enables this type of upload still integrated via a simple web page using the drag/drop/copy/paste method.

Lets hope FF has this functionality soon!
